The Fairfax Community Foundation is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to investing in the people, places, and programs that help Fairfax thrive.
Through charitable giving, grants, partnerships, and community investment, we support projects that strengthen our local economy, improve quality of life, and create lasting public benefit for everyone who calls Fairfax home.

WHAT WE DO
The Fairfax Community Foundation helps turn community ideas into reality.
We work with residents, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and local government to fund projects that create meaningful, lasting impact throughout Fairfax.
Our role is simple:
- Raise charitable funding
- Pursue grants
- Build community partnerships
- Support programs that benefit Fairfax
Why the Foundation Exists
The Chamber drives economic activity.
The Foundation creates opportunities for charitable investment.
Many community projects are eligible for grants and philanthropic support but fall outside the mission of a business association. The Foundation provides the charitable structure needed to attract donations, foundation funding, and community investment that expands what's possible for Fairfax.
Together, the Chamber and Foundation can accomplish more than either organization could alone.
Our Focus Areas
The Foundation supports projects that strengthen Fairfax through:
Community Events & Placemaking
Creating welcoming public spaces, community celebrations, public art, beautification projects, and initiatives that bring people together.
Economic Opportunity
Supporting entrepreneurship, workforce development, small businesses, and programs that strengthen Fairfax's local economy.
Youth & Education
Investing in educational opportunities, youth leadership, arts education, internships, mentorship, and workforce readiness.
Community Well-Being
Supporting projects that improve public health, outdoor recreation, emergency preparedness, environmental stewardship, and affordable housing.
Our Approach
We believe the strongest communities are built through collaboration.
We bring together residents, nonprofits, businesses, civic leaders, and public agencies to identify opportunities, secure funding, and help move impactful projects from ideas to implementation.

The Foundation works alongside the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce while operating as a separate nonprofit organization.
The Chamber focuses on supporting local businesses and economic vitality.
The Foundation focuses on charitable investment, grants, and community-benefit projects that enhance Fairfax for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
